We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society
based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation.

Kami, warganegara Singapura,
sebagai rakyat yang bersatu padu,
tidak kira apa bangsa, bahasa, atau ugama,
berikrar untuk membina suatu masyarakat yang demokratik,
berdasarkan kepada keadilan dan persamaan
untuk mencapai kebahagiaan,
kemakmuran dan kemajuan bagi negara kami.

    LIKE THE PIN YIN VERSION.

I have lived abroad coming on 20 years now for work. The Singapore National Anthem (its many improving versions) always brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye from the pride of being Singaporean and of how my little country has become what it is today. I am so proud of Singapore and of being Singaporean and I yearn to return to my home. I am glad I have the internet to click and recite the Pledge as I did every day twice a day while in school in Singapore. The internet also allows me to watch and listen and sing along to the Singapore National Anthem. I miss my home country and the internet is my interim salve to my longing to be home.
