KTV Covid-19 Butterflies

On the afternoon of 9 July (Fri), I met Wilson at Pasir Ris MRT station on my way home. We chatted a while regarding the easing of dine-in at hawker centres and coffeeshops. It was hot topic as the government had announced from 12 July (Mon), 5 persons could sit at a table. We were looking forward to our usual gathering as our kakis had not met for lunch since the 2 dine-in started. I did express my reservations that the government should have “banned” all KTVs from operating. I’m referring to those sleazy sex dens masquerading as KTVs. I have seen shocking video clips of shiokingly happenings inside those KTVs circulating on WhatsApp.

I told Wilson that there is no social distancing inside those KTVs and their intention of going there is to “ungal” (pronounce as wongal) Link those hostesses. It makes no sense to pay those sexy hostesses by the hour if there is one meter social distancing. When we gather in a coffeeshop or restaurant, we don’t ungal each other and we stay far apart. I was worried that the virus in these KTVs might spread to the community. We were asking each other why the government never thought of that? It’s so obvious. Let’s hope that nothing would happen.

Barely the easing restrictions began on 12 July (Mon), daily Covid figures suddenly shot up. Sadly, our prediction came through. The source of our recent record spike of Covid 19 cases came from those sleazy KTVs! I’m not going to pinpoint any nationality or I’ll be accused of xenophobic! As long it’s KTVs, it’s dangerous minefield cuz of the intimate ungaling activities in close proximity without any social distancing going on in those dark sleazy places. Link and Link

Between 12 July (Mon) till today ie 18 July (Sun), positive cases of Covid 19 in the community gone up like crazy. All our earlier efforts to contain the virus has gone up in smoke. Who is to blame? The government was doing a great job until this slip shot. It’s a costly mistake negating all their past efforts. Could it be that those government officials never been to those KTVs at all? They are holy innocent, decent chaps, well behaved elite civil servants who don’t frequent night spots for entertainment. They work hard, go back to their wives and rest early before getting up early to work like a holy chosen cardinal. Now I recall a rumor of a certain general who gone to China and got drunk by the weathered beaten, hard core Chinese generals in an official function! Now you see the problem?

The Butterfly effect has gone island wide!

Is it fair to those hawkers and restaurants to throw away all their food preparations and ingredients when the government suddenly imposed another round of confusing restrictions barely a week after the easing of dine in measures? Their businesses and livelihood are affected by those KTVs and the government’s lack of foresight! Maybe they didn’t cut their foreskin? Do they get penalized for this obvious blunder whilst we pay and suffer for their mistake? As usual, instead of acknowledging their mistake, they simply point finger and wish away their mis-steps.

They blame it on the “butterfly” effects. Many especially the ladies don’t know about this butterfly phenomenon until they elaborated it to explain the super spreading of the virus via butterflies from all the KTVs to the community.

What has happened cannot be undone. Let’s hope that they will learn from this costly mistake by closely monitoring all the sleazy KTVs. I feel that as long as this Covid 19 pandemic is not eradicated, all KTVs must be banned! Do not allow them to operate for the obvious reasons stated above. As for family KTVs, they can always sing at home, in community centers or by the beach! We must remember that we in a National crisis, nay Global crisis and yet we want to sing and dance like those “Covidiots?” I like this term conned by Hitler. There are so may Covidiots amongst us that we need to use the big stick to strike them hard so that they can’t even remember their own mother! One good example is that badge lady!

In the mean time, we had to go back to 2 dine-in and 5 dine-in if they all vaccinated. How to prove that they are vaccinated? Is it written on their foreheads? That’s another stupid blunder. It’s giving coffeeshop owners big headache. But Macdonalds was wise enough to impose 2 dine-in rule across the board to solve the problem. You see what I meant? I think like many who have gone haywire, they might be suffering from post Covid 19 syndrome until they can’t even think straight! Sigh!

Covid 19 surfaced around Jan 2020 and it’s coming to third quarter of 2021, yet there’s is no respite. Look at neighboring countries where the figures could reach beyond 10,000 cases in a day! Still thinking of family KTVs? Like I say if it’s going to remain with us like a stubborn leach then we must ban all those KTVs with much ungaling (wongal) activities having close body contact. Don’t let this costly mistake happen again. You will never be forgiven if it happens again. Believe me, the backlash will be so great that you will see stars and never ungal again!
