Life cycle of a Singaporean

Some people will no doubt view the last two rows with a heavy heart and a sense of foreboding. However to me, the the last two rows indicate an arrival – an arrival signifying a culmination of one’s life journey. Culmination doesn’t mean “end” but implies having reached a destination. It will be a port of call where one can look back at triumphs and defeats, achievements and tears,  how we have grown, matured, learned, became wise and emotionally mature. It is a pit stop where now, anchored and stable, with kids grown and independent, we look forward to touching more lives, and continuing to assert positive influence even as we enter a phase of quiescence and well deserved relaxation. – Dr Michael Loh
