The Crows and The Snake

Once upon a time there lived a pair of crows on a huge mango tree. They lived happily till a big snake made its home at the bottom of the tree.

One morning, when the crows went in search of food, the snake crawled up the tree and ate some of the eggs. When the crows came back, they were shocked to find some eggs missing.

As the days passed, the snake grew greedy and ate up all the eggs whenever the crow laid them. The helpless crows had to watch from a distance as they dared not attack the snake.

The female crow cried her heart out when she saw the empty egg shells. They decided that they couldn’t take this any more and decided to ask their friend, the wise fox for advice.

The fox came up with a plan. “In the morning, go to the river bank,” he said. “When the ladies from the royal family come to bathe, just pick up a necklace and drop it into the snake’s hole. Then watch what happens.”

Next morning, the female crow did exactly what the fox had told. Seeing this, the royal guards chased the crow. When the crow dropped the necklace into the snake’s hole, it came slithering out. Immediately one of the guards took out his spear and killed the snake.

The crows were happy to get rid of their enemy and lived happily on the same tree.

    Why didn’t the crows just
make their nest at a different
    tree?
One crow was wise to get
water from a jar. Two crows
    depended on a wise fox.

    Clearly, two heads did not
    work better than just one.
And it will be worse, if the two
    are Loggerheads.

    Ahha!

My bad, failing to read a little deeper, however, it gets me more uncomfortable now.
The crows had invited a fox, the latter will not be very much interested in the eggs high up in the tree, it will after the flesh of the birds.
It is dangerous to invite the fox into ones’ pen, but, the danger is not always clear and immediate.
Sin has allied itself with US for some strategic reason. Wonder what will happen to Sin if the US gets any ally next door strategically better(than Sin) for itself? Oh! Tis time, me maybe reading too much! .

    Jus bantering!

    • In the near future, only Sg will be the most reliable partner in SEA. It used to be the Phillipines – Clark and Subic. But that big snake was chased out! Hope that that big snake will protect our eggs and not go after our flesh like what you say!
